AbstractInterdisciplinary work is one of the most prominent features in the Language for Specific Purposes (LSP) field. However, little research has been carried out in this area. The main aim of this paper is to present some ideas on interdisciplinary application in LSP teaching and research. It likewise seeks to clarify the concept of interdisciplinary work. Following a cognitive approach, some examples of civil engineering terminology are analysed. This highlights practical ways in which interdisciplinary action can be implemented and im-proved upon from within the LSP sphere.
